In 21st Century London the First Doctor and his companions land on a  
seemingly deserted Thames embankment, unaware that the Doctors old foes the Daleks have conquered Earth...

Synopsis
I was inspired to do this illustration by the key scene at the end of episode one, where the Dalek climbs out of the river Thames to the shock of The Doctor. I also decided to take a bit more licence with the concept, by introducing a second Dalek coming out of the river and some Dalek saucers flying overhead to make it look like a classic invasion scene. I also dropped Chesterton in favour of Susan, to show a grandfather/granddaughter moment of shock.
